A multimedia project that gathers, shares, and preserves the rich history of of LGBTQ+ Atlanta. The project includes museum exhibits, live and virtual programming, and a podcast series. Our inaugural exhibit, "Out Down South," launched at the National Center for Civil and Human Rights in October 2022.
I am currently working with the founders of the Boston Women's Health Book Collective, publishers of the international book series, Our Bodies, Ourselves, on an oral history of the organization and book publication. Partnership with Schlesinger Library at the Harvard Radcliffe Institute.
Through grant funding awarded by the Brooklyn Arts Council, I partnered with seniors at the Grace Agard Harewood Senior Center in Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn, to record oral histories and create a podcast. (This project was cut short due to the Covid-19 pandemic).
Through a grant awarded by the Brooklyn Arts Council, I worked with a senior community in Coney Island, New York, to create a multi-episode oral history podcast, comprised of personal stories told by participants.
In 2017, I helped train middle school student at the Ariel Bowen summer program in oral history interview and recoding techniques. Our young historians interviewed seniors in their community about their experiences growing up in Southwest Atlanta.
